NYC Premiere of Ancient Dances at the Irish Arts Center (Part 1)

A co-production by the Irish Arts Center and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Maria and Shawn will be joined by cellist Adrian Daurov in the two-part NYC premiere of Ancient Dances at the Irish Arts Center. A special theatrical version of the show will be presented at IAC. Ancient Dances explores folk and dance tunes from Scandinavia, Ireland, Britain & Hungary contrasted with the classical works they influenced.

Japan Meets World Concert at the Ana Tzarev Gallery

Coinciding with the exhibition Floating World: Paintings Inspired by the Arts of Japan, Shawn and Maria will be joined by cellist Adrian Daurov in a performance that explores the influence of Japanese culture in music. This concert will feature improvisation based on Japanese themes and Ana Tzarev's paintings, original works by Maria, classical and traditional Japanese music, and commentary discussing the cultural and personal context of the works performed.
